Your privacy matters. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, how we share it, and how we protect it.
CTAG Live Mobile App is an agricultural IoT monitoring application developed by GND Solutions India Private Limited ("we", "us", "our"). It connects to Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) sensor tags (CTAG Sensor) secured around cow's neck, collects readings from those tags, and transmits them to cloud infrastructure for monitoring.
This Privacy Policy describes what data we collect when you use CTAG Live Mobile App, how it is used, shared, stored, and protected, and the rights you have over it. By using CTAG Live Mobile App, you agree to the practices described here.
CTAG Live Mobile App does not show advertisements, does not sell user data, and does not use data for any purpose other than providing the sensor-monitoring service described in this policy.
When you create a CTAG Live Mobile App account, we collect:

Once connected to a CTAG sensor, the app reads the following from the tag:

This sensor data (accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, temperature) comes from the physical CTAG Sensor hardware — not from your phone's sensors.
The app records your phone's location (latitude and longitude) at the moment a sensor reading is uploaded, and attaches it to that reading to show where it was taken. See Section 5. We do not record a continuous location trail without a trigger.

CTAG Live Mobile App runs a foreground service while collecting data. A persistent notification is shown the whole time so you always know collection is active.
CTAG Live Mobile App scans for BLE devices that match the CTAG sensor profile. The app does not interact with, read data from, or record other Bluetooth devices (such as headphones, fitness trackers, or other phones).
To provide continuous monitoring, scanning and data collection continue while the app is in the background. The background service:
You can stop the service by logging out of CTAG Live Mobile App, after which the notification disappears and scanning stops. You can also force-stop the app via Android Settings > Apps > CTAG Live Mobile App > Force Stop.
CTAG Live Mobile App does not track your personal movement. Location is used only to tag sensor readings with the coordinates at the moment of upload.
On Android, apps must hold the
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION permission to scan for nearby
Bluetooth Low Energy devices. This is an Android platform requirement,
because Bluetooth signals can theoretically be used to infer location.
CTAG Live Mobile App requests this permission to enable BLE scanning
and to tag uploads — not to track where you go.
When a sensor reading is uploaded, the app takes a single location reading and sends it alongside the sensor data, linked to the device ID and timestamp. No continuous location trail is recorded.
CTAG Live Mobile App requests location access only as "while using the app". It does not request the separate Android background-location permission. Location tagging that happens while the screen is off during an active sync is enabled by the foreground service (with its persistent notification), not by always-on background location.
CTAG Live Mobile App uses your camera only for QR-code scanning, to register a sensor tag to your account by scanning the QR code on the device label instead of typing the ID.
The following permissions are requested by CTAG Live Mobile App on Android. Each is requested at the point it is needed and used only for its stated purpose.

CTAG Live Mobile App does not request background location, approximate (coarse) location, microphone/audio, contacts, SMS, or storage permissions.
Data exchanged between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using industry-standard protocols:
Your session token is stored locally on your device so you stay signed in, and is cleared when you log out or your session expires.
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, contact us at venkatesh.tk@gndsolutions.in.

You can request deletion of your CTAG Live Mobile App account and associated data at any time:
We verify the request and delete your account profile, registered device associations, and related personal data, except information we are required to keep by law. Deletion requests are normally completed within 30 days.
CTAG Live Mobile App is intended for use by adult farmers, farm operators, and agricultural businesses, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to CTAG Live Mobile App, contact us at venkatesh.tk@gndsolutions.in and we will delete it.

We aim to respond to privacy requests within 15 business days. Account deletions are completed within 30 days.
You can revoke any permission at any time via Android Settings > Apps > CTAG Live Mobile App > Permissions. Note that revoking Bluetooth or Location will prevent the app's core monitoring from working.
